Wink SL 2012/2013 tour to Aus beginning Dec 14

    Australia finalise summer schedule

    http://www.espncricinfo.com/australi...ry/572969.html

Sri Lanka's three-Test series begins in Hobart on December 14, and it could be an extra special match for the Tasmanian fans. If Ricky Ponting plays all three Tests against South Africa he will be in line to break Steve Waugh's all-time record of 168 Test appearances for Australia and he will do so at his home ground, Bellerive Oval.

Sri Lanka will then play the MCG Boxing Day Test for only the second time, and while the first holds dark memories for the Sri Lankans after Muralitharan's no-balling, both teams have moved on since then. Ponting is the only man who played in that Test who is likely to be part of this year's Boxing Day encounter, and the Sri Lankans have enjoyed success at the MCG in the shorter formats over the past few years.

The Test summer finishes with the third Test against Sri Lanka, at the SCG from January 3 to 7, before the limited-overs part of the season kicks in. From January 11 to 23, Sri Lanka play five ODIs at the MCG, Adelaide Oval, Gabba, SCG and Bellerive, before two Twenty20 internationals in Sydney on January 26 and Melbourne on January 28.

Yeah going to be awesome not sure if i can make it to any of the Tests though I sure hope this time we can at least give them a fight. Our batting is not that great but even more than that our bowling is still a huuuuuge concern. I wonder if they have A Mendis in their plans. Might not be a bad idea me thinks.

For most of it I will be on my couch in front of my telly sipping on some iced tea like a bwoss lol. If you want to join you are more than welcome. Bring a 12 pack if you can though that would be marvelous. I will most likely go to the Gabba ODI but the rest not so sure.

South Africa will play its first Test match at the Gabba since 1963 to open the Australian summer this year.

The series opener in Brisbane will start on November 9, followed by Tests at Adelaide Oval starting on November 22 and at the WACA ground in Perth the following week.

The first Test between Australia and Sri Lanka is in Hobart starting on December 14, followed by the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne and the New Year Test in Sydney.

Canberra's Manuka Oval will also host its first one-day international fixture when Australia plays the West Indies in February.

It will be the first time the Australian team has played in Canberra and the day-night game will form part of the city's Centenary celebrations.

Another piece of history could be made, with Ricky Ponting a chance to break Steve Waugh's record as Australia's most-capped Test cricketer in front of his home fans at Hobart.

If the veteran batsman plays all three Tests against South Africa in November, he will be on track to create Australian cricket history in his home state of Tasmania in the first match of the series against Sri Lanka.

The former captain, who was dumped from the one-day international squad in February, has so far played 165 Tests, three shy of Waugh, his predecessor as skipper.

Meanwhile former Australian Test cricketer Paul Reiffel will make his debut as a Test match umpire in this month's series between West Indies and New Zealand in the Caribbean.

Reiffel, 46, made his international umpiring debut three years ago in a one-day match Melbourne, after retiring from first-class cricket in 2002.

Reiffel was a right-arm pace bowler who played 35 Test matches for Australia in the 1990s.
