Imagine if Bang and SL started "test2 cricket(all hypothetical of course)...then you had the other three in the sidelines begging for Tests....I am sure one or two of the SL and Bangla boys would have been classed as the "greatest" in this, that and the other.![]()
Take any ordinary cricketer...play him against the same opposition and conditions(home and away)...he'll soon get the fix....and then you play a few unwanted nations(back in the colonial days...SA, WI and Ind were subservient dogs to their colonial masters)...they waited..queued patiently for a Test series. Bit like SL in the 80s...when England TCCB(now the ECB) gave SL cricket the step motherly treatment.

I don't really see how its Bradmans fault that there was only 1 major test nation at the time. He smashed pretty much every county, state and test side he played against. That is the most any player can do.
He might have played against 1 top nation but he sustained his dominance through out his career against everyone he faced. That is why he is fkn brilliant.

Never did he experience the art of spin in the dusty pitches of India.
Did he ever face fierce fast bowlers?
I mean look at the way they cheer him and applaud him..it was too gentlemanly for my liking. Sport should be played with passion and to win by pushing the boundaries to its most legal limit.
I will never be convinced...
I would rate Ponting and Lara over Bradders any day, night and in my next life.

Larwood, Bose,Voce,Allen,Verity,Bedser.
A country devised an entire tactic to stop one man.
I am not saying Bradman is the greatest - cuz we have now been privy to some remarkable batsmen who have played and been tested against more rounded opopsition.
But in that Era he was untouchable. But he was so brilliant that he is still regarded as even better than most today by people who've seen him and the modern greats. What does that say?
Any its all just opinion. I think Bradman woulda been fine against spin cuz he was fleet of foot and smashed the spinners in his time pretty regularly. Dont forget he would have met a lot of the best players in that time in County cricket from all over the world.
bit in bold - dafuq does that have to do with anything lol
