Malinda Warnapura, the left-hand opening batsman, has earned a late call-up to Sri Lanka's one-day squad for the five-match series against India. He also features in a Sri Lankan XI squad that will take on the Indians in a warm-up match at the P Saranvanamuttu Stadium in Colombo on Friday.
Warnapura, 29, has only played a single ODI, against Pakistan last year. He was in impressive form in the recently concluded Test series, which Sri Lanka won 2-1. He scored 243 runs at 60.75, with a hundred in the first Test at the SSC, along with two fifties.
Meanwhile, Chamara Kapugedera has been named captain of the Sri Lankan XI, which includes five others who are in the one-day squad - Mahela Udawatte, Chamara Silva, Kaushalya Weeraratne, Dilhara Fernando and Thilan Thushara. Kaushal Silva, the former Under-19 player, was chosen as the wicketkeeper while legspinner Malinda Bandara provides slow-bowling options.

All the usual suspects make the team, once again Kasual silva picked which is fantastic because he shouldnt be neglected. Kapu given his first top level game in charge, ahead of Muba so looks like they want to try and look for a future leader.
Also Malinga Bandara is in thats also good, so is the inclusion of Welegedra. But Lasith still hasnt recovered? maybe.
Look forward to it, friday. UT to fail, Warnapura and Bandara to perform thats my picks
