Our schoolboys are getting hammered aren't they? LOL. But seriously great experience for them I'd say. And dman wouldn't it be awesome if they managed to beat one of those top teams?
And regarding other teams seems that Kandurata and Wayama are two strong teams and have performed consistently. Sana and Mahela failing AGAIN! But young guys are stepping up.
This tournament is far better than the previous club system.
No it don't hurt to have them there. Because it's just one team and if they are weak, yes but everyone gets to beat them so no biggie. It's not like you care about records. But it's good experience for them, especially since nobody expects them to beat the others they are under no pressure to perform, but good opportunity.
^Plus good chance to see them in action against the best in SL
although some one sujjested putting them in the provinces and adding another pronvince which isnt a bad idea
cause they coulve picked 6 players with the most potential in that list..1 PLAYER GOES TO EACH TEAM AND TAHT TEAM MUST PLAY them IN the games
They will gain experience if they were allowed to play along side with the greats. this wont do any good , but surly it will demoralizing the youngsters to a extent. May be they will learn smthng outta frm all the thrashing they receive. But it would be more effective if they were given chances to play along wid players like sanga, mahela etc
Combined XI boys have a good chance today.B.South batting is not strong.
and romesh buddika is making sure they will have a good score to defend, looks like sanath got a start and got out again, tharanga going strong though.
In todays papers I saw many pundits criticising SLC for playing this under23 side saying they were too weak.
It is a nice reply by these boys.
2 things SLC should do next year to make sure this tournament is competitive & popular
1.More flexibility in team selection
2.More publicity
