Default How to improve the quality of our Domestic level Cricket???

I think they should play 4-day games to improve our domestic circuit. There will be more competitiveness and results.A huge adjust up is needed when a player goes to play Tests after playing 3-day games for a long period.Specially Quick bowlers who are required to bowl lot of spells.

Any ideas about how to improve the quality???

A provincial first-class tournament to supersede the current club arrangement. The Sri Lankan team essentially is picked from a handful of clubs anyway.

The worse club team have to choose the best upcoming players 1st up. Other clubs have to choose players after that. It has to go with the worse ranking team to the top ranking team. If we can do this the worse teams can be the best. There will be more competition and yeah agreed with 4 day games. So we can get results.

    Has to become like Australia.

Provincial and Club must run along side to side to each other. Play well for club > move to provine > play well there move to Sri Lanka.

has to run through whole cricket season though, at the same time. the provincial leagues should also be fully televised, like every game, that will help draw in more stars.

here in Australia, cricket watchers know all the domestic players well, and know if they will make the australian teams, it is that well publicised. with a system like that, you can have the top players playing against other top players, everyone playing at their own level, mostly.

SLC could manage that with National Rupavahini Corporation, but they(SLC + Rupavahini) are more interested in shit like IPL.
    Thanks for sharing ideas.

More publicity.Players will be encouraged to perform better if they get publicity & identification.

Its kinda hard to do here cos all the clubs except a few 3rd tier ones are in Colombo. One way to overcome that is if you perform well in Club level, you will be chosen to represent the province you come from. Still it will have a lot of holes in it. This current provincial system is better - it needs to be developed more.

But if you really wnat to develop, the most important things is players should be guaranteed of good paychecks. There are only few, in not none, professional club level players in SL. Because the money is not good. So essentially, if you pay them better, thats the only way. For that you need sponsors.
