Anybody here who's a Michael Crichton fan?

    Man I LOVE his work...
I started with SPHERE and never looked back from there on... It was great and so is his all other novels. Yes, I have read all fiction, and must say most of them are FANTASTIC!!!

Specially Sphere, Prey, State of Fear, Timeline and Jurassic Park. Those are few of my favourites...

Hated Dan Brown. won't touch his stuff with a 200ft pole and rubber boots.

Read LOTR (all books),Hobbit and others.

    read the Mahawamsa too...

Lots of other good books - War of the world's book much better than any of the movies.

I didn't like Dan Brownes stuff much either.

I read The Da Vinci Code first and it was generally ok then. But later I read Deception Point and Digital Fortress and was totally disappointed. The plot is almost identical in all three books (the characters and situations are different, yet the plot follows a familiar line).

yeah true ...the plot is very much the same lol .....
da vinci code is alright though i liked it .....angels and demons is not bad either...but the thing is he goes into details too much sometimes...u knw history and all ....doesnt keep the story flowing all the time

You probably heard we ain't in the prisoner-takin' business; we in the killin' Nazi business. And cousin, Business is a-boomin'

Well, details wouldn't bother me much. I sort of like history too.

But the problem I have with this guy is, there's nothing to think about his books after I finish reading them. It's just another story. (Da Vinci Code is a bit ok, but the rest are just too ordinary for me) I would rather like something that gives food for thought, and Michael Crichton's books certainly does.

Ishmael by Daniel Quinn is an awesome book, everyone should read it about leavers and takers lol

Also, Sun Also Rises and A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway are also two other good books I've read over the past 3-4 months.
