Default ‘Tharunayata Hetak’ caught pants down

‘Tharunayata Hetak’ caught pants down Lead News Friday, 25 December 2009 12:57
‘Tharunayata Hetak’ (Tomorrow for youth) organization of Namal Rajapakse has swindled Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union for the tune of Rs.10.8 million by ordering air tickets for participants at the recently concluded Carlton Rugby sevens tournament.
The bill is the money owed to Mackinnon travel agents which facilitated air ticketing for the tournament. The ticketing had been done on credit. According to Dr. Maiya Gunasekera, Chairman of Rugby Interim Committee, “somebody had requested the air tickets in an official capacity using the SLRFU letter heads. This had been done without prior approval of the Rugby Union interim committee.”
“We did not order any tickets and never gave any approval for a transaction of this nature” said Dr. Gunasekara. According to sources in the Rugby Union ‘Tharunayata Hetak’ is responsible for the ordering of tickets for the tournament and is expected to ‘settle the matter.’
‘Carlton’ is the name of Rajapakses’ residence at Tangalle.

A known devil is better than an unknown devil.

Who will be your superhero after the 26th? Ranil or Fonseka?

To be honest it will be Fosneka. The First non politician to be the President of Sri Lanka.

Ranil or Mahinda will be having no chance to play with The General.

If Ranil wants to be the PM then it will be after the General Elections.

Your point is clear... but you can't win without taking any risk. You can learn from Dilshan.

Didn't you know? Fonseka had to accept certain conditions before being chosen as the common candidate for UNP/UNF. One of those conditions is that he will have to abolish executive presidency. Which means that he will only hold a ceremonial post, and PM Ranil becomes the main man.

I don't think Sri Lankans will fall for that. Sorry.

Why would they bother keeping a ceremonial post? Seems a great waste of money? Bit like a governor General being a big waste of time and money here!
