U can't say they are the top 2 Test teams.It was difficult to determine no.1.Few months ago when AUS,IND & SA were the top 3.
SA haven't done well at home v ENG.I think IND & AUS are the top 2 ATM.IMO IND should be able to win the series coz SA are weak v spin & their quicks might not get a great assistance from IND pitches.Still it should be a good contest.
IND were the best Test team in 2009.But SA beat AUS in AUS & then AUS beat SA in SA.As I have mentioned numerous times IND will be the real no.1 when they win test series in SA & AUS.IND haven't even won a Test series in SL after 1993.They made 4 or 5 tours to SL since then.I believe IND will win over SL in this years test tour.

In 2010/11 - AUS tour IND for 3 Tests,IND tour AUS for 3
SA tour AUS for 3,AUS Tour SA for 3
IND tour SA for 3,SA tour IND for 3
Not gonna happen but it's one way of finding it out.

Tendulkar & Laxman in the squad

India squad for first Test: MS Dhoni (capt/wk), Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, S Badrinath, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Amit Mishra, Pragyan Ojha, Ishant Sharma, M Vijay, Sudeep Tyagi, Abhimanyu Mithun, Wriddhiman Saha.

If the pitches are going to be the same, the series will be another *Yawn*.
Else, this is gonna be worth watching. If India need to win their best chances will be to prepare decent pitches that favor spinners. We all know how shit Saffas are against spin. On a good track Bhajji + Chawla will be a handful.

On the other hand SA camp is in disarray, no coach and obviously there are internal problems. If they managed to overcome this then Smith and Steyn need to come good for them. They are teh two main players for them - despite Kallis scoring a shitload of runs generally it's Smith who wins matches for them.

By preparing lifeless pitches definitely India will win and prove the world they are the number one.
