i love console games like fifa and madden but they cant beat computer games like counter strike and starcraft. i am not into WOW or other multiplayer games that take hours to quest. i like the quick action that counter strike provides though.![]()

Mortal Kombat: Armageddon Review
Midway brings its acclaimed fighter to Wii with new gesture controls. Is the end experience better?
by Matt Casamassina
May 25, 2007 - Mortal Kombat: Armageddon represents the pinnacle of Midway's fighting franchise, the culmination of all the warriors, stadiums and control mechanics that have made the series a fan favorite over the years. The Wii version of the game is a port of the already-released PlayStation 2 and Xbox incarnations, which have been available for almost 10 months. This port features one additional character, but otherwise the content - all the gameplay modes and nearly all of the options - is identical. There are two key differences, though. The first is that the Kombat on Nintendo's system dons new gesture-based controls - you can fight with quick flicks of the Wii remote, if you so desire, although it's not a requirement. The other big separator is that despite coming late to the game, Armageddon for the Big N's little white box arrives without an online mode, as the previous builds had.
Armageddon is packed full of fighters - more than any other version -- and it is this saturation of the warriors that becomes the backbone of the new storyline. In an attempt to keep the hordes of fighters locking themselves in battle forever and threatening the safety of both the Earthrealm and Outworld, the Elder Gods devised the ultimate tournament at a pyramid with an elemental guard, Blaze, where the final competition for power, glory, and all other things that fighters seek could be held. The storyline is, of course, merely a setup for the non-stop brawling action that follows, but it does fit well within the Mortal Kombat universe, if you're a purist, and it's also told well, if you value production values. A crispy-clean and beautiful opening cinematic showcases the battle of the warriors and how each will risk limb and life to gain access to the top of the Elders' fated pyramid.

Grand Theft Auto IV
Grand Theft Auto IV(also known as GTA IV or GTA 4) is the upcoming eleventh installment of the Grand Theft Auto video game franchise, announced for release by Rockstar Games on October 16, 2007 in the United States for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.[1] The game will run on the RAGE game engine, which also powered Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis.[2] The game is being written by Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser. It will include online play, but will not be an MMORPG. GTA IV has been nominated for a 2006 Golden Joystick Award in the One To Watch For 2007 category.[3]
According to Janco Partners analyst Mike Mickey, a financial consultant for Take-Two Interactive Software, around 150 game developers are working on Grand Theft Auto IV. He also remarked that Rockstar Games is "fully capable of ushering in an entertainment experience categorically superior to the prior cycle’s GTA product".
The game will be set in a redesigned Liberty City in the year 2007.
According to the Official Xbox Magazine, sent out to subscribers in early May, GTA IV was 66% complete at the time of writing.

Pirates 3 game out now
Choosing the Ideal Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Console Experience
With a massive console-wide release on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PS2 and Wii, how do they all measure up?
by IGN Staff
May 31, 2007 - Typically, multi-platform releases on home consoles means a generalized experience to suit all game systems, regardless of the hardware capabilities. In the past, what you saw on a PlayStation 2 was pretty what you'd see in an Xbox and GameCube game.
For this new generation, however, each console has tried to set itself apart with a unique feature set, and publisher Disney Interactive Studios taps into each console's strengths with the video game adaptation of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.

The Xbox 360 and PlayStation experience boasts the highest graphical fidelity of the pack, featuring lush jungle terrain, grimy wooden ships and detailed character models that include aesthetic frills such as subsurface scattering and parallax mapping. One of the more eye-catching moments is seeing Jack Sparrow faithfully rendered in 3D: as in the movies, Jack retains his lazy, androgynous swagger when moving about, his mannerisms motion-captured to perfection. The attention to detail can especially be seen in Davy Jones and crews' characters, with every little barnacle meticulously rendered in bump-mapped scrutiny.
Both console versions are at heart a third-person action game. Combat includes not only swashbuckling, but also hand-to-hand melee, grab moves and throws. A combo system meter fills up as you execute a chain of hits, eventually allowing you to perform elaborate (and at times savage) finishing moves. The game allows you to tap into the star-studded ensemble, with the major characters such as Elizabeth Swann, Captain Barbossa, Jack Sparrow, and Ragetti and Pintel being at your disposal. At World's End features multiple pirate control, allowing you to freely switch off between multiple landlubbers in specific encounters.
Where the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 differ are in the details. For the achievement point junkies, the Xbox 360 version features a slew of achievements ranging from the casual-friendy to the hardcore. On the PlayStation 3 version, the Sixaxis is utilized in the beam-balancing mini-games, where you have to pitch the controller in order to keep your digital alter ego from falling.
The Nintendo Wii version features a more unconventional gameplay experience, taking advantage of the gyroscopic Wiimote controller. Instead of using buttons to hack and slash, At World's End on the Wii lets the player physically swing the controller: horizontal slashes execute faster yet weaker sword attacks, while vertical chopping motions execute stronger swings. Meanwhile, the movement of the character itself is done by the Wii Nunchuck attachment. As in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, the combat is partially combo-based, with a Killer Instinct-style combo rating flashing in the corner of the screen.
Parrying requires a bit of practice to master in the Wii version, as your character is limited by stamina for the number of blows that can be blocked. A well-timed block and sidestepping executes what developers have dubbed the "Olay" move, where the enemy flails past the player (and off a cliff if fighting near a ledge).

Wii version still looks competitive at 480p.
The PlayStation 2 version features similar graphics to the Nintendo Wii game, but with a more conventional controller layout. And all of the platforms boast robust voiced dialogue featuring the iconic likenesses of Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly--adding up to a kinetic experience mirroring the blockbuster motion picture.
