Are we a bunch of bloody hooligans?

It’s with utter disgust and sorrow heart I write this post. Due to personal propaganda this site has divided into two. People need to understand that everyone has different views and try to debate respectfully. It is also important to understand when to back off and draw the line. At the end we must learn to be friends and not build hate and become enemies. It is a shame what happened in the past two days especially in a sports forum. Sports teach us to respect your opponent, to be humble in your achievements and to build friendship with your rival. Everyone that acted in this chaos lost the most important essence of sports.

I am not going to point fingers at anyone, because everyone’s at fault. I have read all the posts; the ones that were even deleted. I have read the MSN conversation between Cool and Zaid. I even read the articles that were posted by mysterious users. I also read all the shout box conversations that happened in the past two days. I am highly disappointed with every one of them. Most of us are Sri Lankans and we can’t live in harmony in a forum. What kind of message are we sending to the rest of the world? Are we a bunch of bloody hooligans?

Its time we shake hands and put our differences behind. Its time we start from the top. Coolwind I have utmost respect for you because you made our motherland proud by starting this forum. There isn’t a forum like this on the internet. This is one of a kind. As the leader you must show more integrity. I always tell people if you are going to fall down in life at least fall forward then you would gain ground while you are falling. It’s up to you my friend to put this mess straight.

Let’s start with Cool and after that I want every other pundit that was involved in this mess to apologies. After we come to a compromise you guys can do what ever you want. But first you guys need to shake hands and amend the friendships.

So Coolwind it’s up to you my friend to respond. If you do the rite thing and accept your weaknesses you will rise above all. That’s when everyone will follow you because we respect you. Respect is not something you get freely its something one must earn. Same goes to all other culprits.

PS. I will make sure that everyone who was banned and who have left this forum will see this post. Its time to let bygones be bygones and unite friendships.

Agree.....but all the people involved in creating this mess have to realise that. I will surely miss immortal & damith if they decided that their ego is bigger then cricket. Only L will be left to read my post when India beat Aus in Oct. Not to mention.....my banters with Damith...when Ind will tour SL soon

Immortal just created a new account today under a different alias..That's how sad this has all got, if indeed it was a misunderstanding on MSN then the right thing to have done was to come here and apologise to coolwind for the MISUNDERSTANDING I gave Zaid this option and he chose not to take it.

hello all, I'm here to explain myself regarding the action taken against some of the senior members of this site. I would love to be as specific as possible but unfortunately I'm on a mobile phone. This all started after AK was banned. I have no personal grudge against him or anyone else. AK was banned due to the fact that he continued defaming Hilal calling him Hi Lal and continued to defame Islam even after he had been warned several times. Immortal was banned soon after for creating a bogus thread to "continue" AK's leged. They were all showing little or no respect for forum rules. These bans were only week long bans. Forum rules are there for a reason. Then after that night Zaid started abusing me calling me Msn god. He was banned soon after and then Damith started a thread posting the whole MSN convo, which is a total invasion of my privacy. He had the option to email me and ask me politely what ever he had to ask. Then they ganged up and posted bunch of threads, defaming myself and hilal's character. If they are to send me an appology I would love to reverse the decision on promise that this sortta thing would never happen again in the future.

thanks Coolwind for the response.... this is a start...... I am certain both parties are to blame..... and I am glad that you are willing to except them back and to reverse the decision.

As I said in my first post I read everything and there wasn't any saints... everyone crossed the lines.....

I will seek an appology from them but I need to know that you would also extend an appology.

Wow....cant believe that seniors like Immortal, Damith & Zaid were so inline with the crap of AK. The only reason being that all 4 were against IPL....which was showcasing some very exciting cricket that current Aus/WI & Eng/NZ series r yet to reach.

AK was their primary shoutbox against T20 & IPL....& I guess his ban made them to take the vacant job of shoutbox against that format.

Nothing else make sense as to why such cricket lovers like Damith, Immortal & Zaid will side with AK crap. As I told to Hilal....CW...u people allowed AK crap to continue for 6 months....he should have been banned at the start only...why he was routinly abusing every thing...including culture & country

machan tipiya we really appreciate what you're doing but some food for thought...

when we go to visit someone else's house we abide by a certain etiquette and manner as not to be rude or unpleasant in the eyes of the host...

now consider this...this site was created and owned by one person who has put the effort and his own MONEY into this site. Because of this we ALL enjoy a FREE environment to discuss things that are important to us. Just like you won't piss about in your friend's house, ppl should abide by some common rules here....all of us being here is a privilege despite this being a public forum and even the most venerable among us are mere guests here!

Now you only have to browse through AK's and Damith's recent posts to see why they were banned! As for the MSN encounter I cant comment because its not something I have read! Damith/Immortal/Zaid/Nismo were valued members here but their seniority should in NO WAY exclude them from the common rules we all abide by!

I miss their (minus AK) input and it will be great if all involved can make-up and acknowledge their respective mistakes and our collective responsibility to behave with respect...
